Who will win the Tour de France 2020? One week into the Tour de France, Geraint Thomas has moved back up the list of potential overall winner odds (on most online sportsbooks) and back into the top 6 to win the 2020 Tour de France. Thomas gained ground in Stage 6, closing in on the leader and passing Egan Bernal in the process. The 2018 winner is a great climber and looked like he could claw. Dylan Teuns is the winner of Tour de France 2019 Stage 6, before Giulio Ciccone and Xandro Meurisse. Giulio Ciccone was leader in GC. Lutsenko wins stage 6 of the 2020 Tour de France. 2020-09-03T14:42:46.675Z Jesus Herrada comes over the line, a spent force, but a well-deserved second place. The 6th stage of this year's Tour De France, a 191km run from Le Teil to the to of the Mont Aigoual, dips its toe in the Massif Central. We expect GC contenders to enter in action as te last 26km are mostly uphill. The route of the 2nd stage is gently undulating from start to finish. But the course should not worry fast men. The elevation gain is marginal, while the route is approximately 20 kilometres shorter.

Pocketing five victories, Marcel Kittel was in a class of his own in last year’s Tour de France. Dylan Groenewegen (on Champs-Élysées, when Kittel already pulled out) and Arnaud Démare (after a chaotic and crash marked finale) took the other two sprints.

Odds

Kittel’s move to Katusha started to pay off quite late this season. But the German landed his first two victories in the Tirreno-Adriatico. Young Groenewegen seems to be a new big name though, the Dutchman won nine times this season, although he ended in sixth on the 1st stage of this year’s Tour de France. Fernando Gaviria powered to victory ahead of Peter Sagan and Marcel Kittel. If one thing, the Colombian is backed-up by the best lead-out team.

Stage 6 of the Tour de France starts at Le Teil and finishes 191 kilometres away at Mont Aigoual. We take a look at the stage from a betting perspective.

Stage 5 Wrap

Stage 5 of the Tour de France may well go down as the most boring in recent history. I have never watched the stage where there hasn’t been a single break bar one effort from Kasper Asgreen to get away early.

In the end we were treated to an exciting finish and Wout Van Aert continued an incredible season with a victory over Sunweb’s Cees Bol with Sam Bennett running into 3rd. Caleb Ewan battled to get into position and never really got into the firing line.

There was some drama after the stage with Julian Alaphilippe been docked 20 seconds for an incorrect feed and Adam Yates is now the Yellow Jersey.

There is very little change to the Outright Betting although Primoz Roglic has firmed in to even money.

Stage 6 looks an interesting one with some tough climbs near the end and a number of the breakaway specialists will be licking their lips.

Stage 6 Verdict

If it comes down to a GC battle then Roglic will be hard to beat although Guillaume Martin looks capable of a bold show and could prove to be better value at these odds.

The short list can become a long list the more you look at this stage but after a rare day with no breakaway on Wednesday we can expect some quality riders to get away. Two who fit the bill are Lennard Kamna and Ben Hermans, both of whom are very capable of delivering for their respective teams on their day and at some stage on this tour their focus will be on stage honours.

Stage 6 Bets:

Lennard Kamna (from a breakaway) 22/1

Tdf Stage 6 Odds Predictions

Ben Hermans (from breakaway) 40/1

Odds

Guillaume Martin (in case of a GC battle) 33/1
